What is Express Bill of Lading (B/L) / Seaway Bill ?
It operates on similar principle as an airway bill i.e. goods are considered delivered as soon as they are tendered to the line. This is a very useful document when cargo has to be delivered immediately upon arrival at destination. This document can only be used when no bank negotiation is involved.
Can frozen and chilled cargoes be carried in containers ?
Yes, but cargoes must be in refrigerated or reefer containers.
How can I get the instant view of my shipment status ?
We will be providing you with the tracking link that lets you get the shipment status by typing- in your container number or the bill number or the cargo code or the railway report.
Can you handle door delivery at the destination ?
Yes. Provide us your door address and we will check cost for you.
What are the usual methods of freight payments ?
Payments can be done with a company check, Cash, wire transfer or credit card.
Can B/L be issued to a third party at another location besides Port of Loading ?
Yes, as long as VVL Logistics has office located at the intended place of issuance. Shipper must provide written notice in advance to our company on such intention.
Can I ask for combined or split B/L after the cargo has arrived at destination ?
Yes, and if the shipping list has been submitted to the customs at destination, there will be probably a penalty charge imposed by the customs which will be carried by the shipper or consignee.
Can I arrange for email-release cargo to the consignee ?
Yes, and if the shipping list has been submitted to the customs at destination, there will be probably a penalty charge imposed by the customs which will be carried by the shipper or consignee.
Can Cargo be released against the company’s guarantee or personal cheques in lieu of Banker’s guarantee ?
Banker’s guarantee is preferred in such case.
Can I re-use containers from import shipments for export ?

When can I pick up the cargo ?
You can pick up your cargo from the port or terminal after obtaining the delivery order and release order from VVL Logistics.
Can I request to hold my laden containers at transshipment port ?
The request will be evaluated on a case-by basis and is to subject to the regulations of the transshipment port. Normally, if the request is accepted, both shipper and consignee have to furnish Letter of Indemnity as well as be accountable for extra cost (if any).
